Custom-Built MTU 1MW Diesel Container Trailer-Mounted Gensets Ready!

Our internal service teams at Generator Source have been showing off lately. Okay I call it showing off-- they call it busy. Whatever you call it, both our technicians and fabricators at our Colorado and Florida locations have been building custom MTU power modules. It’s amazing to see what our team can do with 40-plus years of generator industry knowledge and skills—and these units look good!




























The unique genset projects are designed for clients who not only want sound dampening and weather protection, but also like the idea of mobility. By combining the MTUs with a trailer chassis, they become more valuable portable units that can be moved to different jobsites or even get into locations that might be more of a challenge to reach.

“Our team recently purchased (4) new 1000 kW MTU units,” said Tim Lathan, Generator Source general manager. “Our expert fabricators and generator technicians have methodically and painstakingly placed each of the new diesel generators into a container enclosure to protect sensitive parts from outside forces and damage, ultimately increasing reliability and longevity while helping with sound dampening.










 

 

“Not only do these containers protect the units from weather, water, dust and debris, but we didn’t stop there.” added Lathan. “These units have also been mounted on 40-foot trailer chassis making them versatile for any job site for standby application.”
