Texas Waste Water Treatment Plant Counts On Generator Source For Power As The Region Grows 

Our Austin field services team was recently on site for a generator decommissioning and upgrade this past month. The field services team performed a turnkey operation leaving no stone unturned, so this utility will avoid any future power outages in the state of Texas.

“Our team handled the removal of a 350 kW Caterpillar for a local waste water treatment plant,” said Chris, Generator Source Austin Branch Manager. “The site needed a power upgrade, as they were expanding their capabilities to keep up with the growth of the region. That meant a power upgrade to a 650 kW Cummins was in order.

“We started the project by decommissioning their current unit, disconnecting wiring, removing any remaining fuel in the tank and we utilized a crane company to help lift the smaller generator onto a flatbed for shipping as it too was sold and sent for testing to get ready for another home.”

This project required a quick turnaround with the fast sale of an upgraded unit, shipping and install as no client wants to be without standby power in the event of an emergency. As part of the sales process, our team also performed preventative maintenance on both commercial units, cleaning and testing to make sure they were ready for the new jobs.

“Our Generator Source family made it happen,” said Chris. “We not only were able to get them an upgraded unit, but we were able to handle all phases of this decom and install while connecting them with our Colorado yard for the new industrial power source.”
