Florida Service Team Makes Headlines In Jacksonville

“Channel 12 News is upgrading their standby generator due to the age of the current Caterpillar,” said Chad Rowland, project manager at Generator Source out of Jacksonville. “We are helping them with this upgrade, changing from the outdated 400 kW CAT to a new, more reliable 500 kW MTU.

“This was basically a swap due to age of the CAT as we pulled the old unit out and replaced it with the larger MTU,” added Rowland. “The CAT was still up and running, just old and becoming unreliable. Chuck, Mike and I rigged both units in and out on skates, using pry bars and some old-fashioned muscle to get the units swapped and complete the job.”
