Entergy proposes backup generators for businesses — at customers' expense (wwltv.com)  The extended power outages across southeast Louisiana after last summer’s Hurricane Ida was a reminder of the vulnerabilities of the state’s power grid.  Entergy is now pushing an idea to roll out a fleet of natural gas-powered backup generators across the state. 
A Denver-Based Firm Is Using Huge Diesel Generators to Grow Cannabis in East Oakland. Now the City Is Trying to Shut Them Down (KQED.com) The city of Oakland is warning the Colorado owners of a major cannabis production complex in East Oakland that they may face significant fines and criminal charges if they don't quickly remove unpermitted diesel generators that have been running around the clock for more than a year to power the facility's operations.
 How to Decide Where to Locate Electrical Generators (facilitesnet.com)  Many property owners are challenged with the question of where to locate their electrical generators. The difficulties are understandable: Generators —whether they’re emergency systems, legally required standby systems, or optional standby systems — are needy beasts that require a fuel supply, a combustion air supply and exhaust pathway, and a cooling air supply and exhaust pathway.
 The majority of Texas power generators are weatherized, according to a new report (kcentv.com)  The Public Utility Commission told power generators in October they must complete winter weather emergency preparation measures by Dec. 1 of 2021. The generators were required to send a report to ERCOT saying what had and had not been done, and that report was sent to the PUC 10 days later. If generators did not send in the reports, or failed to do the work, they could face a fine of up to $1 million a day.
